Nunhead Station
Pregnancy first trimester
Since no-one came up with any photos of the new artwork at Nunhead Station, we jogged over there at hour tonight and got some of our own. It's a rather lovely gateway, which does with metal what Rob Ryan does with paper. It transforms a unglamorous station incoming and shows an admirable dedication by Southwark Council to wage a high-quality open realm. On our way backwards along St Asaph Road, we saw the streetlamps that a some readers hit mentioned. Southwark has installed retro metal lamps all along the street, which vastly meliorate its appearance. We got this worthless shot, which just most gives you the idea.
The handsome metal lampposts (right) give way to objective beasts (left) at the borough boundary, where Nunhead meets westerly Brockley. It's indicative of a wider dedication to high-quality organisation shown by Southwark (see also, Dulwich's bollards) that Lewisham would do substantially to copy.
